bcpbank Celebrates Five-Year Milestone

bcpbank, NA, is a leading full service Community bank that has shown tremendous
growth in its short lifespan. The bank has now reached the five-year milestone most new financial institutions can’t achieve. So what happens next? In a strategic move, this leading multiregional Community Bank announced on October 6, 2005 its plans for a bold expansion plan for 2006-2007 that will bring the full service branch count from 18 to 37.

bcpbank, with branches in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts, has been carefully planning its expansion not only within current markets, in order to add extra convenience, but also to those where opportunities for bcpbank’s value proposition
were identified. The aggressive expansion plan will increase bcpbank’s coverage in New
Jersey, New York and Massachusetts as well as bring bcpbank to Connecticut and Rhode Island.

“This expansion reflects the leading role of our parent company, Millennium bcp, and the
potential of the Northeast US banking market”, says Pedro J. Belo, Chairman and CEO, bcpbank.

Most recently the bank opened a new banking facility on Stuyvesant Avenue in Union Township bringing this financial institution’s “banking without boundaries” mission statement to this community. One of the bank’s trademarks is its branch architecture which makes use of large windows and warm colors to invite clients through the doors and experience the bank’s services. The Union branch heightens this look by being bcpbank’s first stand alone branch.

The bank recently launched a new campaign where the Grand Prize is a 2006 MINI Cooper Convertible. Aimed at bringing in new checking customers to bcpbank, this new campaign will award up to $50 to new checking clients who open up a new account and perform simple, everyday banking transactions with their account. In addition, all bcpbank checking accounts come with a free ATM and Visa Check Card; free bcponline, bcpbank’s Internet banking solution; and free bcpcontact; a 24-hour telephone banking service. Clients who bank at the Union branch have an added bonus of a short-term, five- month CD/IRA offering an APY up to five percent.

bcpbank’s approach to the US Retail Banking market brings the know-how of Portugal’s leading financial institution; Millennium bcp, showcasing the banking without boundaries concept as a onestop branch for a variety of financial products and services, including 24-hour banking via phone, Internet and ATM.

Since November 2000, when bcpbank started operating, the company has been efficiently deploying its branch network to Portuguese-speaking clusters, from South Jersey to Ludlow, in Massachusetts. From now on, and based on the success of the operation, the bank is planning to widen the scope of its core target and provide other Communities its unique proposition, regardless of ethnicity.

“Our initial value proposition thrived since bcpbank understood its target market needs like no other financial institution could. With this growth plan, we expect to be delivering the same value proposition to several different segments with one universal thread: going beyond their expectations,” concludes the chairman and CEO.
