the academy is proud to announce that it is now the home
of the Swing FORE Life program. The program is an
all-day three-week Summer Camp program for kids age 9

teach your kids or grandchildren the traditions and
etiquette associated with the game. By exposing them to
the finest instruction and exceptional training programs
that will include skill games and swimming breaks, we

CAMP PREMIERE AT KEAN UNIVERSITY
Premiere Stages, the professional Actors’ Equity
Association theatre program at Kean
University, is currently seeking applications for Camp
Premiere, a two-week theatre camp specifically tailored
for high-school students. They will work with
professional actors, directors and playwrights in an
interactive experience, writing and performing plays in
a fun, creative and nurturing environment. The camp also
serves as a good introduction to a college campus and
reinforces the opportunities and benefits inherent to
higher education. Camp Premiere will run from July 17 to
27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday, in
Vaughn-Eames Hall, Room 119, located on Kean’s
main campus at 1000 Morris Ave., Union, N.J.
Working with a curriculum guide
specifically developed for the camp, students learn the
elements of acting and playwriting through innovative
exercises and games that translate their ideas and
impulses into theatrical scripts. The student-conceived
plays will be showcased on the final day of the camp in
a performance that is open to the public. A certificate
presentation and reception will follow the performance.
“I learned how a play can jump off the paper and come to
life,” says Daniella Mendoza of Hillside, N.J., a 2005
camp participant.
The total cost for participating students
is $295. Scholarships are available. For more
information or to request an application, please contact
Melissa Gawlowski, literary and education coordinator,
at mgawlows@kean.edu
