THE GOLF ACADEMY AT BASKING RIDGE

The Golf Academy at Basking Ridge Country Club offers clinics to all ages and abilities, including junior 2 and 3 day clinics, full-day camps, as well as a half-day summer camp. The program is under the direction of our PGA Head Professional Mat Kent.

Full-day Swing FORE Life campers will experience both on course, driving range and classroom instruction. All students will be provided with lunch and will also enjoy a swimming break at the clubs private pool. By exposing children to the finest instruction and exceptional training programs that include skill games and swimming breaks, we will provide the beginnings of a swing that will last fore life.

The Swinging in the Sandbox Clinic starts teaching children between the age of 4 and 8 the fundamental of golf. The lessons are fun, challenging, and filled with games that give children a chance to learn in a controlled, relaxing environment. This is a great way to teach your child the basics of the sport.

Both camps are run by PGA Professionals. Club membership is not required for participation in. For more or information, a complete schedule and to register online log onto our website at www.baskingridgecc.com or call The Golf Academy at (908) 766-8200, ext. 143.

KIDS’ AND TEENS’ SUMMER ART CAMP: CELEBRATE OUR WORLD

The Art Center’s Kids’ & Teens’ Art Program has been developed to foster knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts. Students will explore a wide variety of mediums such as drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and three-dimensional work under the guidance of highly qualified instructors. Each week, kids’ & teens’ classes conclude with a party where parents/caregivers are invited to view their child’s artistic creations. Teen classes are geared toward the more mature, aspiring artist, providing the perfect transition for children who have attended the camp program in the past. Teen Art Camp is also appropriate for teenagers new to the Art Center’s summer programs. The theme of camp is Celebrate Our World. Each week students will learn about different cultures and create art projects based around those specific countries. This year the Art Center is offering new countries and new projects each week so you may register for as many weeks as you would like. Summit YMCA day camps have always been great…WHO KNEW they could get even better?

For generations, Summit YMCA day camps have given kids the kind of fun and rewarding experiences that inspire a lifetime of memories. Carefully designed for specific age groups from 3 - 17, each camp invites youth and teens to explore the outdoors, learn new skills, have intriguing cultural adventures and meaningful interactions, and make new friends. Like all of the Y’s programs, summer day camps embody the principles of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, and are intended to make a difference on the well-being of every member in our communities.

A variety of traditional camps for preschool and youth pre-teens and teens are available. Camps feature field trips, swimming, songs, arts & crafts and games, and specific interests offered program like sports and The Experience –offering arts & humanities such as the visual and performing arts. In addition, Extended Camp Care options provide longer hours for working parents, and a financial assistance program so that everyone can belong to the Y, regardless of their financial circumstances.

New this year—longer sessions. Each camp session will run for two weeks to give campers a more fulfilling experience. And best of all, new ways to pay - offering a credit card plan to make camp payments even easier.

The Summit YMCA is located at 67 Maple Street. An Open House on January 27 from 1 – 4 p.m. will kick off the camp season.
